SIP Video Interoperability. Presented by Charles Eckel, Cisco and IMTC

SIP video conferencing interoperability is the primary focus of the IMTC SIP Parity Activity Group. The name “SIP Parity” reflects the initial goal of the group, to provide a video profile for SIP based video conferencing that matched the capabilities of H.323 deployments. Since the group's inception in 2009, state of the art video conferencing deployments have been shifting from H.323 to SIP. The work of the SIP Parity group has been pivotal in this transition, enabling a level of interoperability that was a prerequisite for the migration. This presentation provides an overview of this work, a set of best practices and associated test case documents.
