SIP Forum Announces Detailed Conference Agenda for SIPNOC 2011
Inaugural conference to provide a key opportunity for information exchange among network operators and engineers deploying SIP-based networks and network services
NORTH ANDOVER, MA (April 7, 2011) – The SIP Forum announced today its conference agenda and detailed session descriptions for the first SIP Network Operators Conference (SIPNOC), to be held April 25-27 at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel in Herndon, VA. The two-day event, a first-of-its-kind international conference aimed at service provider operations personnel, will feature presentations, speeches and panels from communications network professionals in a cooperative environment aimed at sharing information and best practices regarding SIP-based services in carrier networks.
“We initiated this event with the goal of providing a meeting place for the international community of communications engineers and network operations professionals that deal with the real-world intricacies of SIP on a day-to-day basis,” said Eric Burger, SIP Forum Chairman Emeritus and Chairman of the SIPNOC Program Committee. “We expect SIPNOC presentations to not only be intriguing and informational; we expect them to foster the free exchange of ideas that will have a positive, tangible effect on SIP deployments and related applications.”
As previously announced, Federal Communications Commission Chief Technologist Dr. Douglas C. Sicker will provide the keynote address at SIPNOC. A recognized leader in the industry, Dr. Sicker has chaired and served on the program committees of numerous technical conferences, including IEEE, DySPAN, ISART and TPRC.
SIPNOC conferees will explore a variety of SIP-related subjects in a variety of sessions, including panel discussions, general session talks, and Bird of a Feather (BoF) ad-hoc meetings. The conference agenda includes key topics by network operators and engineering professionals related to SIP-based services and infrastructure, including security, troubleshooting and monitoring, FoIP, performance metrics, large-scale SIP interoperability challenges, HD voice, SIP Trunking, application development, call routing and peering, and more.
