Presented by Michael Hirschbichler, A1 Telekom Austria and the Institute of Telecommunications at Vienna University of Technology.

In this session. Mr. Hirschbichler will present the reasons and advantages of blackbox longterm VoIP quality monitoring. By showing specific examples, he will show the importance of both rapid alerting on the one hand and longterm-trend monitoring on the other. This session will also describe the decentralized monitoring solution (at one of the largest Telco providers in middle and eastern Europe) used to get as much "customer perspective" as possible.
