From time to time, new Task Groups are proposed to create Recommendations on how to use SIP to create new, but interoperable SIP-based products and services.

The authoritative source for discovering which new Task Groups are being proposed is the Technical Working Group email archive.  However, this page will from time to time show Task Groups that are actively being considered for creation.

At the present moment, The SIP Forum is is considering the creation of two new Task Groups within the Technical Working Group:

-- SIP Security
-- IPv6
-- Service Provider to Service Provider Interconnection (Peering)
-- SIP in Unified Communications, and,
-- Video and Telepresence
