Hi,
Is called party is connected to Quintum Gateway via FXS port or SIP end-point or TDM party ? If called party is FXS or TDM party, then you must get 180 ringing otherwise you I guess Quintum Gateway has some configuration/bug. Even though 180 ringing is a provisional response, it is sort of mandatory in SIP world.
I hope this helps
thanks,

Hi Vipul,
Thanks for the reply. Called party is in the Quintum Gateway side. The Quintum Gateway is supposed to send me (Verso side) a 180 ringing but it is not. I do not get 180 ringing at all. In other word Called Party (Quintum) is not sending the 180 ringing at all.

Hi,
I think you should check if Quintum Gateway is receiving 180 ringing from called party. If you get this 180 ringing randomly, then I suspect Quintum Gateway could be unstable but pls check if called party is sending this or not.
In case called party is not sending, then Quintum Gateway will never send it to you but otherwise Quintum Gateway has some problem.
Hope this helps.

Hi All,
I am connecting from Verso (C4 and C5) platform to Quintum Gateway. I make a call and do not get a ringback from Quintum Gateway. I took traces and they show that after "100 Trying Message", it goes straight to "200 OK" or sometimes to "183 Session Progress". I do not have access to the Quintum Gateway as another person is doing the configuration on the other side. In a nutshell, what causes a SIP Server not to send a "180 ringing message".
Regards
Mfana
