UDS Provides Re-usable Software Components Built On Eclipse Java Framework for Easy Integration and Shorter Time to Market LAS VEGAS - April 5, 2006 - At CTIA Wireless 2006 this week, Ubiquity Software [LSE: UBQ.L], creators of the most widely adopted standards-based SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) application server, announced the launch of Ubiquity Developer Studio (UDS), a development and debugging platform for its award-winning SIP Application Server (SIP A/S). UDS provides a simplified set of tools that enables SIP developers to build highly modular applications and services which run on top of the Ubiquity SIP A/S. UDS is easy to download and deploy within Eclipse, the most widely used IDE for Java development, to promote rapid creation of converged SIP wireline and wireless applications using ready-build components and debugging tools. UDS is designed to work in conjunction with the Ubiquity Appceleratorâ"˘ product set, an optional add-on to SIP A/S. Appcelerator provides a unique SOA including a Service Oriented Object Framework (SOOF) with reusable code components. And by using Eclipse, developers get an enterprise or "IT" perspective on real-time telecommunications applications software development, which makes it easier to develop converged applications that work with carrier services or within the enterprise. UDS provides a series of plug-ins for the Eclipse Platform that facilitate creation of services and applications on Ubiquity's SIP A/S. UDS is supported on Windows, Linux and Solaris. "By introducing the Ubiquity Developers Studio, we are encouraging developers to produce and deploy commercial applications and services" said Doug Tucker, Chief Technology Officer, Americas for Ubiquity Software. "UDS allows developers to realize time saving ready built components that can be tested from the desktop environment. We believe that this will enlarge the SIP market place and ultimately bring businesses and consumers the products that they desire." Applications created with UDS can be built tested and debugged in Ubiquity Developer Edition, so you can test and debug right on your desktop. Ubiquity Developer Studio The Ubiquity Developer Studio is a collection of plug-ins for the Eclipse Java development platform to support creation of applications and services to be deployed on the SIP Application server. UDS combines the best of Eclipse built-in and Ubiquity real-time application development plug-ins. It aids developers by using wizards that allow for the automatic creation of Service Components based on a collection of selections from the developer. UDS runs within Eclipse 3.0, 3.1 and conforms to published Eclipse plug-in UI guidelines. Advanced Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Ubiquity is also offering Appcelerator, an add-on to the SIP Application Server that provides a structured environment for building managing and deploying applications. Appcelerator includes a suite if application development and deployment modules, including Ubiquity's SOOF, which promotes predictability and repeatability into SIP applications, and Service Components. General availability of the Ubiquity Developer Studio (UDS) and the Ubiquity Developer Edition (UDE) are scheduled for April 12, 2006. Additional information on Appcelerator can be accessed at www.ubiquitysoftware.com/UDS.
