SOA to Speed Development and Deployment of Next-Generation SIP Applications Appcelerator â"˘ Service Oriented Object Framework and Service Components Leverages Web Services Software Development and Deployment Approach for Use with Ubiquity's Award-Winning SIP Application Server LAS VEGAS - April 5, 2006 - At CTIA Wireless 2006 this week, Ubiquity Software [LSE: UBQ.L] will introduce a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based development and deployment platform that bridges the gap between IT and telecommunications development platforms, allowing developers to rapidly create new real-time telephony applications based on SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). Ubiquity's new Service Oriented Object Framework (SOOF) and Service Components SDK will allow software developers to rapidly create SIP applications from reusable SIP Service Components. These components can be assembled into multiple next-generation applications that run on Ubiquity's SIP Application Server (SIP A/S). Ubiquity has packaged SOOF in its new Appceleratorâ"˘ SOOF Feature Pack , an add-on for the SIP A/S, and. a series of commonly used Service Components in it's new Appceleratorâ"˘ SOOF Developer Kit. SOOF is a structured environment that makes it easy to build and deploy SIP applications using reusable service components. SOOF also bridges the gap between telecommunications applications and IT applications, linking the two environments together in real-time to support converged applications, like voice or multimedia over IP. By deploying proven, reusable code components in an environment that addresses the needs of both telecom and IT developers, SOOF shortens time to profit by giving developers the building blocks they need to build new applications on a common platform in a well understood way. "Convergence of fixed and mobile voice with data/telecomms and IT technologies is changing the playing field for traditional carriers, but at the same time it opens up new opportunities for innovation," said Doug Tucker, Chief Technology Officer, Americas for Ubiquity Software. "By packaging our SOOF platform in Appcelerator, we can speed time to market for a new generation of yet un-conceived applications built on SIP. Carriers, service providers and enterprise developers will be able to develop new standards-based applications faster and more efficiently with Ubiquity's new SOA platform. Because of Appcelerator's SOA framework, management and maintenance of applications is dramatically reduced and simplified." Ubiquity has packaged its SOOF platform as two complementary products:
General availability of the Appcelerator SOOF Feature Pack and Developer Kit are scheduled for April 12, 2006.
