Ubiquityâ_Ts New Voice Plus Solution Enables Service Providers to Enter the High-Growth Consumer Voice-over-IP Services Market Cardiff, UK. â_" Feb. 7, 2006 â_" Ubiquity Software [LSE: UBQ.L], a leading provider of SIP application solutions that are enabling a new generation of communication services, today announced the debut of Ubiquity Voice Plus, a cost effective, highly scalable and feature rich solution for consumer IP telephony and multimedia services. Building on Ubiquityâ_Ts early success in consumer VoIP applications based on three commercial deployments, Voice Plus is a carrier-grade, pre-built voice over IP solution for Internet-based service providers (ASPs, ITSPs, ISPs) who want to deliver IP-based voice and other multimedia services to their residential customers over cable, DSL, WiFi, or other consumer broadband access networks. Voice over IP service revenue in North America will grow 18-fold between 2004 and 2008, from $1.24 billion to $23.4 billion, according to Infonetics Researchâ_Ts latest VoIP Services report. More than $62 billion will be spent on VoIP services over the 5-year forecast period. "VoIP subscriber growth is skyrocketing right along with revenue growth: itâ_Ts growing faster than anticipated, weâ_Tre forecasting a triple-digit CAGR from 2005 to 2008," said Stéphane Téral, directing analyst of Infonetics Research. "Because VoIP enables a "bring your own broadband" model, it dramatically lowers the service providersâ_T barrier to entry and opens the telephony market to a wide range of companies with highly differentiated offerings," said Téral, "Ubiquity has honed their expertise in developing enhanced VoIP services with this launch of Voice Plus, a robust solution that enables companies to quickly launch new, scalable VoIP services with minimal investment and technical know-how." Unlike alternative "pointâ_T applications, Voice Plus is deployed on Ubiquityâ_Ts SIP Application Server which makes it easy for service providers to add new features and applications over time, enabling a continuous cycle of innovation. Voice Plus includes the "Top 10" residential calling features including PC to PSTN calling, PSTN to PC calling, PC to PC calling, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, and three-way calling. Voice Plus is also a platform to deliver additional IP-enabled capabilities such as presence, instant messaging, video calling, file/desktop/content sharing, and instant conferencing services. The Voice Plus solution contains all the necessary elements to enable a service provider who is already offering consumer Internet services to add consumer VoIP to their menu within 60 days. Key Benefits of Ubiquityâ_Ts Voice Plus Solution:
"Based on Ubiquity's market-leading SIP Application Server and vast experience in SIP-based voice applications, SipStorm was able to introduce a commercial-grade, highly-differentiated consumer VoIP solution that has received much acclaim," says Chuck McDonough, CTO of SipStorm. "Our partnership with Ubiquity gives us confidence in our ability to scale our VoIP service and leverage our investment through the introduction of enhanced capabilities and new services over time." "Ubiquityâ_Ts new Voice Plus solution serves as the foundation for deploying commercial-grade, highly innovative VoIP services," said John Hart, VP of Product Line Management at Ubiquity. "By introducing Voice Plus, Ubiquity is enabling service providers to quickly and economically move into the consumer VoIP services market, with maximum flexibility to customize their VoIP offering and add new features and services over time while protecting their network investments." Voice Plus enables new business models, pricing strategies, and service packages that are difficult or impossible to match in the circuit switched environment and helps service providers capitalize on the innovative and rapidly growing VoIP market. For emerging competitive carriers and Internet based service providers, Voice Plus lowers the barriers to entry and provides a means of rapidly bringing to market new SIP-based VoIP services.
