The SnowShore Media Firewallâ"¢ is a high performance media processing platform that enables session-level security for internetworking across multiple carrier and/or enterprise IP networks. It performs critical real-time Network Address Translation(NAT) and dynamic firewalling functions and supports multiple signaling protocols and media transcoding functionality allowing secure traversal and interconnection of IP media streams across multiple network boundaries.

This integrated solution serves as a signaling and media routing engine at the network border to deliver interworking, access control, least-cost routing, SLA support and CALEA law enforcement functionality.

The SnowShore Media Firewall utilizes WireSpeedMediaÂR technologyâ_"unique carrier-class network processing, digital signal processing and protocol processing optimized for ultra-low transit latencyâ_"to perform real-time NAT and dynamic firewall pin-holing for thousands of concurrent calls. It also provides secure IP to IP gateway functionality with support for SIP- and H.323-signaled RTP media, and EdgeMediaâ"¢ processing of DTMF tones. This compact, low-profile 1U/2U server can be deployed in a "1+1" configuration to provide the stable call redundancy required in carrier-grade applications.
