The MCI Advantage is a network-based IP communications product serving both small business and enterprise customers in the United States. It consolidates local and long distance for multiple business locations over a customer's single data network. Using SIP-based network intelligence, the MCI Advantage delivers a feature-rich service supporting both legacy equipment and IP phones.

MCI has created an environment where both the legacy and IP worlds can co-exist and interact. This allows customers to migrate in the most flexible and cost efficient manner. MCI understands that our customers have substantial investments in legacy circuit switched hardware and phone systems, most of which provide basic voice services at a reasonable cost. The MCI Advantage offers a bridge between technologies, a long-term growth path and has been specifically designed to ensure a flexible migration path for our customers.

We offer a complete suite of services that will enable a migration to a converged environment:

• Support for traditional features such as dial plans and range privileges
• Advanced calling features, including find me follow me routing and selective call acceptance
• IP to IP and IP to PSTN calling · Local and long distance calling · Flexible pricing plans independent of distance and time
• Ability to maintain current PBX and phones and/or migrate to standards-based IP phones
• Administrative control through a web interface.
• Support for U.S. Frame Relay, ATM, DSL and Dedicated Internet access

The MCI Advantage has two options that work hand-in-hand:

• For remote and small offices, MCI offers a bundled package that combines MCI ’s Internet or DSL transport with domestic and on-net calling. The package is offered for one monthly fee and includes access, unlimited local and domestic long distance and customer equipment.
• For headquarters or campus environments, MCI offers a modular product that allows for a custom-designed converged solution that provides voice services over MCI Internet, Frame Relay or ATM networks. Each component of the solution is priced individually to provide maximum flexibility.
• The bundled and modular solution may be combined to create a solution custom tailored to your specific converged communication needs.
